This is a tenuretrack teaching position. Minimum Education Requirements Doctorate in Communication Studies, with a specialization in global communication. Special Requirements Research interest in African Studies; research emphasisinterest in postcolonial and transnational theory; demonstrated ability to effectively teach a variety of global communication courses; demonstrated ability to teach qualitative methods courses; demonstrated ability and willingness to mentor undergraduate students; pedagogical research interests; active within the Communication Studies discipline, including presenting papers at conferences; demonstrated interest in women, gender, andor sexuality studies; ability to fluently speak a second language common on the African continent; collegial orientation and ability to participate in and facilitate teamwork, as well as willingness to participate in shared governance responsibilities; and satisfactory background check per university policy. Required teaching skills and presentation requirements may be earned during advanced educational studies.
