Requires PhD in economics or related field; and research interest in geographic variations and health policy effect evaluation as demonstrated through dissertation, presentation of research at international conference or peerreview publication; and 12 months experience with the following engaging in analysis with administrative data such as Medicare, Medicaid or Vital statistics or other survey data such as the Current Population Survey; methodological processes using causal inference from observational data, including multivariable regression modelling, fixed and randomeffect models, differenceindifference estimators, bias and falsification assessment propensity matched cohort analysis, and instrumental variable analysis; advanced variable selection methods adapted from Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence such as Random Forest classification, or Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator LASSO. The experience requirements can be met through employment, training or an academic program.
