This position requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails web application development. In the alternative the business will accept 7 years of experience with Ruby on Rails web application development. Per 20 CFR 656.17h4, any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Additionally, the applicant must have work experience with 1. Designing and developing web applications using MySQL, Redis and Apache; 2. Building gems and plugins to increase maintainability of rails applications; 3. Developing and testing Unix Shell Scripts and Capistrano scripts; 4. Integrating and using tools like RabbitMQ, Sidekiq, ElasticSearch to improve performance of rails application; 5. Building and developing web applications using REST API standards, jQuery and Coffeescript; and 6. Developing and using high level testing suite using Cucumber framework.
