PhD in Microbiology, Nutrition and Food Science or related field and 2 years of experience involving the following Working BSL2 Biosafety Level 2 laboratories; Developing new molecular assays for rapid foodborne pathogen detection; Evaluating and optimizing enrichment media and incubation conditions for detection of target foodborne pathogens; Designing and conducting validation studies for AOACAFNOR certifications, using FDABAM and USDAMLG as reference methods; Developing industry SOPs and customerfacing documents including QC plans for manufacturing, user guides, and white papers; Preparing sample matrices for meat, pet food, chocolate, dry spice, or ingredients which may inhibit bacterial growth; Evaluating competitor assays and reporting results; and Managing consumable and reagent costs for food safety related projects. Travel required.
