Experience must include structural analysis, structural dynamics, structural design, repair design using CFRP and other advanced materials, and engineering mechanics; working with probabilistic concepts such as risk and reliability, uncertainty quantification, random vibration, andor stochastic processes; working with commercial finite element analysis computer programs, including ANSYS, ABAQUS, LSDYNA andor SAP2000; and using computer programming and scripting tools for engineering computations, including Mathcad, MATLAB, Python andor VBA.br br Will also accept a PhD degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or related field and 3 years of stated experience.br br br H.12 PLEASE NOTE that these requirements bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation of Civil Engineer in the context of the engineering and design services industry, and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner. Because this position requires an advancedlevel of engineering and computational design expertise, the employer has determined that a masters degree is required. The required graduate programs prepare students to plan and develop complex structural engineering design projects, including those relevant to this position. In addition to learning engineering fundamentals, students are required to participate in rigorous research projects and spend hours completing lab work. Through these programs, they learn how to creatively solve problems, design and implement experiments, and improve processes. In addition, the advancedlevel coursework allows them to examine and understand the theoretical underpinnings of the field.
