Ph.D. degree in Virology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field, or foreign equivalent and 8 years of virology research or industry experience working with gene therapy and vector production. Experience must include 2 years of experience in each of the followingbr Working with AAV and lentivirusretrovirus manufacturing in adherent and suspension platforms using multiple producer cell typesbr Working in Vector Core or similar feeforservice environmentbr Applying principles of virus biology, engineering and optimization to improve vector tropism, specificity and efficiencybr Upstream and downstream optimization to improve vector quality and recovery, including scaledown culture models, density gradient centrifugation and virus stability assessmentbr Working with assays and assay development including PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, SDSPAGE, Western blot, plaque assay, vector copy number and flow cytometry.br Performing molecular and cellular techniques including plasmid design and molecular cloning, restriction digestion, nucleic acid isolation, culture of immortalized and primary cells, cell transfection and transductionbr Training and mentoring junior staff and studentsbr Using specialized software, including Electronic Lab Notebook, DNA sequence analysis Snapgene and graphingdata organization Graphpad and Microsoft Office suite.br br Experience may be gained concurrently.
