Position requires MS in Comp Science, Electrical Engineering or closelyrelated IT field plus 8 years of software development experience as Software or Web Developer, Software Engineer, Engineering Lead or similar position; OR BS in Comp Science, Electrical Engineering or a closelyrelated IT field foreign equivalent ok 10 years of software development experience as Software or Web Developer, Software Engineer, Engineering Lead or similar position. Must also have or experience must include 5 years of experience working with object oriented scripting languages like PHPPythonRuby, with an additional preference of frameworks like LaravelSymphony; 5 years of experience with SQL NoSQL Databases; 1 year of experience serving as team lead andor managing other software engineers or developers; Expert level understanding of OOP Object Oriented Programming MVC Minimal Viable Concept design principles; Strong understanding of content management systems and real time applications; Familiarity with modern Javascript Frameworks like Node andor React; Proficiency with version control applications i.e., Git, Gitflow andor branching; Proficiency with queuing systems such as RabbitMq, SNS or Kafka; Proficiency with Docker Containers and AWS; and Understanding of continuous integration tools such as Github, Jenkins or Travis CI.br br ADDL RESPONSE TO H.12 DOL classified Sr. Director of Engineering as 113021, Computer Information Systems Managers, which has an established Job Zone 4 SVP range of 7.0 lt; 8.0, for which a bachelors degree or higher and 24 years of experience is the normal minimum requirement for entry into the field. As such, SafeRides minimum requirements of a MS 8 years of software development experience or a BS 10 years of software development experience exceed the DOLs normal requirements for a Computer Information Systems Manager position. However, it is a business necessity for Sr. Director of Engineering to have at least 8 years of experience with MS or 10 years of experience with BS due to the seniority and complexity of the role. Someone with less experience would not have the requisite skills and knowledge for this senior level leadership position, including the ability to design and advise on SafeRides overall system architecture for all engineering projects; direct daily operations of the Engineering team; architect, drive and oversee long and shortterm technology solutions for the SafeRide Health platform; oversee and direct the QA automation team; advise and assist backend engineers in applying caching techniques to help scale the applications; and hire, manage and mentor Engineering team members.
