1. Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related required. Will accept a BS, MS, or PhD. The bachelors degree is the minimum requirement, but a higher degree would be accepted. The same four years experience applies.br 2. Four years of postbaccalaureate experience in civil engineering as a Civil Engineer, Traffic Engineer, or closely related, with experience in the area assigned.br 3. The current area assigned for this position is traffic engineering. The four years experience should be the followingbr a. Establishing, operating, and maintaining traffic signal controllers, including integration into a central service located behind network firewall.br b. Developing and analyzing various transportation models to reflectproject transportation travel patterns and delay. This includes incorporating input from regional and local travel demand models developed by metropolitan planning organizations or other jurisdictions.br c. Developing retiming plans for corridors incorporating specific parameters as it relates to signal operations other unique parameters to accommodate safety and multimodal transportation at all traffic signals.br d. Conducting network traffic analysis to determine need for traffic signal modifications, coordination, and safety improvements along signalized corridors.br e. Reviewing transportation models from outside entities to assess projected transportation impacts of developments or other changes to land use as it relates to traffic generation and roadway capacity.br 4. Registration as a Professional Engineer with the State of Minnesota.br 5. All experience can be gained concurrently.
