Preferences An active research program that is compatible with Department needs and existing faculty research areas, including analysis, differential equations, combinatorics, and data science research that has the potential to leverage interdisciplinary collaborations across the University is desirable preferred but not required. A strong mathematics background preferred but not required. Evidence of potential to obtain external research grants preferred but not required. Evidence of highquality teaching and commitment to student success preferred but not required. An interest in mentoring undergraduate and graduate research preferred but not required. The ability to teach a wide variety of courses preferred but not required. Record of engagement with or commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in higher education preferred but not required. Would hire without the above preferences.
