Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Packaging Materials Science, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience developing packaging solutions for new innovations and line extensions for consumer packaged goods in the food and beverage industry. Employer will also accept 7 years of professional experience developing packaging solutions for new innovations and line extensions for consumer packaged goods in the food and beverage industry. Must include 5 years of experience with each of the following 1 CAPE and ArtiosCAD software programs to develop packaging solutions; 2 linking variance and consumer response to process and package material design; 3 identifying package quality improvement opportunities and defect troubleshooting; 4 sourcing new materials and ensuring quality of current and new packaging materials; 5 packaging testing equipment including Instron, Vibration Tables, handle strength testing, and impact testers to analyze package integrity; and 6 maintaining compliance with US and Canadian packaging regulations, including CFIA, FDA and Stewardship Canada.
