The complete job requirements are as follows Bachelors in Home Economics, English, Education or related field; and must be Bilingual EnglishJapanese speak, read, write.br br Note to Clarifybr br Our school, the Japanese Childrens Society, Inc., is a nonprofit, private elementary school, with grades up to the sixth grade, which provides the children of Japanese temporary workers in the U.S. with elementary and preschool education in the Japanese language, as taught in the Japanese school system.br br It is a business necessity for this Teacher, who must quot;teach academic subjects, including Home Economics and English, at the elementary school level, in Japanese,quot; to be bilingual in JapaneseEnglish speaking, writing, and reading because the nature of the occupation requires Japanese language ability, within the meaning of 20 CFR 656.17h2i. The nature of the occupation, as expressly stated in the job duties, shows that the Japanese language ability is absolutely required to discharge the duties of the proffered position, within the meaning of 20 CFR 656.17h2i, for our Japanese school, e.g., quot;Plan lessons with clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students, in the Japanese language; Teach students planned lessons, as an entire class and in small groups, in the Japanese language; Assess students to evaluate their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses; Grade students assignments to monitor their progress; Communicate with parents about their childs progress, including in Japanese….quot;.br br Second,the need to communicate with a large majority of the employers students … who can not communicate effectively in English also requires Japanese language ability, within the meaning of 20 CFR 656.17h2ii the proportion of our students who cannot communicate effectively in English is virtually 100 of our students.
