Must have a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, plus two years of experience in the design, development, manufacture and testing of mechanical components and systems.br br BUSINESS NECESSITY In order to successfully perform these very challenging job duties we require a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering plus two years of experience in the design, development, manufacture and testing of mechanical components and systems. Workers without at least a masters level education would not have the theoretical or academic background needed to independently design and develop completely new mechanical components and systems for aircraft environmental control systems at a professional level applying broad principles, without templates, to create novel designs and solve advanced engineering and technical issues at a senior level. This requires the use of theory and principles normally taught only at the masters level for Mechanical Engineering majors. Two years of professional work experience is required to provide the practical experience and problemsolving abilities necessary to successfully work with other engineers to properly design develop and test mechanical components and systems for the aircraft industry to meet standards and functional requirements. This experience is absolutely required as a business necessity.br br NOT REASONABLE TO TRAINbr There is no one at the company able to train professionallevel engineers to successfully accomplish these job duties. On the contrary, we hired him because of his education and work experience, currently lacking at the company, to accomplish challenging engineering projects at a senior level without further training. It is unreasonable to require Applicant to send workers out for training equivalent to a masters degree as a substitute for the competency of an experienced professional senior level engineer who has worked to develop mechanical components and systems independently with little or no supervision.
