Must have nativelevel fluency in written and spoken mandarin Chinese, and be able to impart an appreciation and understanding of Chinese culture and history. Must have prior exposure to education of children in mandarin, and must possess ability to teach and communicate at an ageappropriate level for grade school children. Exposure acquired during or as part of education curriculum, student teaching, or through volunteer activities is acceptable. Must be eligible to teach for a public or charter school in the state of SC.br br H.6 The position does not require work experience; however, it does require exposure e.g., familiarity through observation, informal or formal job shadowing, volunteer work, etc.. Because the petitioner would accept any qualified individual possessing sufficient observational exposure even lacking work experience, there is no employment experience requirement. For example, a parent of a child who was enrolled in a mandarin class in an educational setting may be considered to possess sufficient exposure through observation of his or her own childs curriculum, class participation, or teaching methods without having any previous work experience in the subject area. Because such a candidate may be acceptable without experience, H. indicates no employment experience required.br br H.7A Bachelors degree in education, or a relevant content area including fields related to language arts, communicationslinguistics, arts, social sciences, music, liberal arts, STEM fields, or related fields.
