Requires at least a Bachelors in Structural Engineering or related field and coursework that includes or utilizes the following Advanced Structures such as matrix analysis or indeterminate structures; wood or timber design of buildings including diaphragms, framing members, and connections; concrete building design including member sizing and inelastic behaviors of materials; dynamic structures; steel design of buildings including connection design; Computer Aided Drafting AutoCAD or Revit. Requires 3 months of experience with Disaster recovery or damage evaluation including onsite work or onsite evaluation. Must sometimes use a respirator on job sites and therefore must be able to be fitted for and wear a respirator. Must be physically able to access job sites with damagedebris and be mobile enough to access crawl spaces, climb ladders to view areas above ceiling panels, use lifts to access high bay up to 3040 ft structural members, and other requirements to assess the structure of an existing building. Must submit to a drug test or obtain COVID19 vaccination if a client requires it. Requires 1015 domestic travel to visit existing buildings often damaged by fire or wind in local, NC, Georgia, Alabama, and potentially others, primarily areas in the Southeastern US. Requires some overnight travel often with short less than 1 week notice.
