Must have a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering or a related field plus five 5 years of experience in the position offered, as a Scientist, Analytical Development Associate or a related position. Must have five 5 years of experience in each of the following Operating highend resolution and high mass accuracy mass spectrometers, including Orbitrap Fusion, QExactive HFX, Waters Synapt G2, Waters Xevo G2XS, Agilent QTOF 6530 and Ab Sciex 5500, to support structural elucidation and physicochemical characterization of biopharmaceutical products; Using protein bioinformatics software, including XCalibur, MassLynx, Proteome Discoverer, Biopharma Finder, and Protein Metrics software, to acquire and process mass spectrometry data; Using mass spectrometry methods and techniques, including peptide mapping to determine the amino acid sequence of proteins, posttranslational modifications of amino acids, Intact molecular weight analysis to confirm identity of protein molecules, and Glycosylation analysis to characterize the nature and sitespecific occupancy of sugars, to determine efficacy of protein biotherapeutics; Analytical method development and biomolecules characterization with chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques; Using Empower and Openlab CDS Software to acquire and analyze chromatographic data; Using chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques to develop analytical and protein characterization methods; Applying common analytical methods, including High Performance Liquid Chromatography HPLC, Capillary Electrophoresis CE, Capillary Isoelectric Focusing cIEF, Capillary electrophoresis sodium dodecyl sulfate CESDS, and Liquid chromatographymass spectrometry LCMS, in characterization of reagents, reactions products and byproducts; and Applying moderately complex and advanced chemical concepts, including determining degradation pathway, molecular properties and critical quality attributes. In the alternative, the employer will accept a PhD in stated field plus two 2 years of experience. Pre or postMastersPhD experience is acceptable. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
