Must have some education in each of the following skills Formulating constitutive material models for high strainrate and large elasticplastic deformation of mechanical response for modeling multilayered composite materials and thin films; Building complex 3D geometries using CAD tools, meshing available geometries to suit simulation requirements for different explicit finite element solvers; Coupling mechanical models with existing reactive flow simulations using custom subroutines LSDYNA, ANSYSFluent; Modeling explicit dynamics and multiscale simulation of structural, mechanical, thermal, and electrical response of composite systems in realistic 3D geometries; Modeling nonlinear contact interfaces, including developing userdefined material models, custom mesh elements and userdefined fracture criterion; Performing mesh generation and numerical solution schemes using the finite element method, error analysis and design of casedependent convergence criteria; and Pre and postprocessing simulation data using analysis scripts Python, MATLAB. Requires background check and drug screen.
