State License.br br H.5, H.5A and H.5B Completion of a three year Architectural internship, with at least one year as a Job Captain.br br According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook OOH and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards there are three steps to becoming a licensed architect completing a professional degree in architecture; gaining relevant training through a paid architectural internship; and passing the Architect Registration Examination. Only after completing all three steps will an individual qualify as an Architect.br The OOH specifically states quot;All state architectural registration boards require architecture graduates to complete a lengthy paid internship generally 36 months before they may sit for the Architect Registration Examination.quot;br Therefore, a professional degree, 36 months of training, and state architect license are all required for entry into the occupation of Architect.
