For question H.4, Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Preferences Demonstrated expertise in the broad field of mechatronics and robotics with particular emphasis on humanrobot interactions, medical robotics and devices, dynamic systems and controls, haptic interfaces, or other related emerging areas preferred but not required. Research expertise that complements that of existing faculty in the ME department preferred but not required. Established record of scholarly productivity, as evidenced by scholarly publications in high profile journals preferred but not required. Established record of competitiveness for extramural funding and the promise of future excellence preferred but not required. Demonstrated experience with and commitment to diversity and inclusion preferred but not required. Universitylevel teaching experience with evidence of effectiveness and promise of future excellence preferred but not required. Ability to effectively mentor undergraduate and graduate students preferred but not required. No amount of experience is required. Would hire without the above preferences.
