Candidates must possess, at minimum, a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related. All candidates must also possess knowledge, as evidenced by passing a basic technical proficiency test, of at least three of the four following subject matter areas 1 electric power system protection practices, protection applications, and associated protocols; 2 protective relay engineering theory, operation, and application at an electric utility, industrial plant or engineering firm; 3 power system modeling using EMTP ElectroMagnetic Transients Program; and 4 threephase electric power theory, design, and operation including current calculations. Note All candidates for all engineering positions at the company must pass a basic technical proficiency test.
