Requires a Masters degree in Fire Protection Engineering, or related engineering field and 3 years of experience, or in the alternative, Bachelors degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field and 5 years of experience. Experience to include 2 years of practical experience with Fire Alarm Design to include Design of initiating and notification device layout in a space, ability to Design fire alarm components and circuit paths, as well as the connection of the components to the fire alarm panel, calculating voltage drop, audibility, intelligibility, visibility.; Sprinkler System Design Design of sprinkler head layout, pipe diameter, riser locations. Hydraulic and system pressure calculations; special hazard system design criteria; use of Fire Dynamics Simulator FDS, CFAST, Pathfinder, Smokeview, AutoCAD and Revit design and simulation software; and Fire Protection Equipment Testing and Smoke Control Modeling. Experience can be gained via experience or formal educationinternship. Must have ability to engage in Code Compliance Reviews Identification of applicable codes and standards to respond to client questions, and conducting code analyses, egress analyses, life safety reviews.br br Requires 40 domestic and international travel for client site visits to support clients at undetermined locations.
