Candidates must possess, at minimum, a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electric Power Systems Engineering, or related as well as 60 months of fulltime, progressively responsible, professional, postBaccalaureate work experience as a Protection Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or related occupation. Of the 60 months of required work experience, at least 48 months must have been spent testing, commissioning, and maintaining electric power protection systems for electric utilities. All of the relevant required experience may have been gained concurrently. All candidates must also possess knowledge, as evidenced by passing a basic technical proficiency test, of all three of the following subject matter areas 1 protective relay engineering theory, industry practices, applications, and testing; 2 theory, design, operation, and formulation of networks used for symmetrical component calculations; and 3 power engineering fault conditions. Note All candidates for all engineering positions at the company must pass a basic technical proficiency test. Candidates must also be willing to comply with the companys DrugFree and TobaccoFree policies.
