Requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field or equivalent, plus 1 year of experience in a related occupation. Requires 1 year of experience in all of the following geotechnical field exploration and procedures; geotechnical instrumentation; applying advanced mathematical and fundamental probabilistic and statistical concepts to solve geotechnical engineering problems; project management including estimating, scheduling, and safety; mechanical and physical properties of soil and rock and their relation to developing geotechnical engineering solutions, including classifications, permeability, strength, and consolidation properties; and analyzing all of the following geotechnical laboratory standards Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, and Plasticity Index of Soils; Grain Size Distribution; Unconfined Compressive Strength of Soil and Rock; and OneDimensional Consolidation Properties of Soils. Requires an Engineer in Training EIT Certification.
