The requirements of a Masters degree and 2 years of experience bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation of civil engineers in the context of the water resources sustainability industry and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner. All of our Water Resources Project Engineers have at least the education and experience listed in the minimum requirements, and we would not hire anyone for this position who did not possess these credentials. Specifically, the nature of this position requires someone with the ability to plan and implement water resource projects throughout California. This requires the kind of advanced skills in engineering planning, analysis, and implementation, best gained through a Masterslevel program where students learn civil engineering planning, analysis, and implementation techniques and strategies. Furthermore, in order to successfully implement these techniques to engineer water supply, groundwater management and sustainability, and flood management, this Water Resources Project Engineer must have handson experience in the field. The employer has determined that at least a Masters degree and 2 years of experience are required, and they would not hire someone without these credentials.
