Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field, and 7 years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation. Must have 7 years of experience with the following skills understanding of weld codes AWS D1.1 D1.3, EN 15085; Technical knowledge about manual and automatic welding processes; Technical knowledge about NonDestructive Testing on welded components MT, PT, UT; ability to design jigs, fixtures, templates including concept, design, creation of manufacturing drawings; Technical knowledge to plan and setup a production floor for a weld department including concept, layout, equipment, headcount, processes; Calculation of weld production hours for heavy rail components carshells e.g. as input for offers to customers; Experience in setting up weld work instructions for production personnel; and in depth knowledge about weld process weld sequence. Employer will accept 2 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree. Approximately 5 travel required.
