The need to speak Hindi is inherent in the job description and the job requirements. The job description specifically states that this lecturer will be responsible for direct classroom teaching at all levels of Hindi language from beginner to advanced. This would not be possible without knowledge of Hindi. Furthermore, the requirements specifically state that the position requires demonstrated expertise in teaching Hindi at the university level. Please note that all applicants were screened against this requirement. By demonstrating expertise in teaching Hindi at the university level, applicants would, by definition, be demonstrating their knowledge of Hindi. Dr. Parnami demonstrated her expertise in teaching Hindi at the university level at the time of her hire and, therefore, she has the required knowledge of Hindi.
