Minimum requirements Minimum of one year professional experience working as a hairstylist or barber. Specific requirements Minimum one year of work experience cutting, drying, and styling hair in a salon or barber shop, and one year experience with beard and moustache trim, shaving, waxing and shaping. Minimum one year of experience bleaching, coloring, waiving and straightening services. Minimum one year experience working with client scheduling systems, cash registers and payment systems. Must be willing to obtain Cosmetology License from Virginia Department of Professional Occupational Regulations.
