This position requires a Masters degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field plus eight 8 years of related experience. Alternatively, this position requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field plus ten 10 years of related progressive, postbaccalaureate experience. Must also have 12 months of experience which may have been gained concurrently with each of the following 1 optimizing substation and collection system design requirements; 2 utilizing Power System Simulator for Engineering PSSE to automate and perform system studies Short Circuit, Reactive Power, and Loss Studies; 3 optimizing capacitor bank size and location using Electrical Transient Analyzer Program ETAP and Power Systems CAD PSCADtm software platforms; 4 performing detailed modeling of surge arresters and circuit breaker function within transient overvoltage and insulation coordination studies; and 5 integrating wind turbines, solar PV inverters, and battery converter blackbox models into overall project model. In addition, this position requires a Professional Engineering PE license. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Masters program. All experience may have been gained concurrently. This position supervises two subordinates.
