Employer will accept Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or related technical field and 5 years of work experience in job offered or 5 years of progressive, postbaccalaureate work experience in a related occupation. Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Position requiresbr 1 Experience designing complex electromechanical systems;br 2 Experience designing and developing wire harness routing and associated componentry, including fastenerconnection selection, and applicationspecific mounting components, including brackets and channels;br 3 Experience working with crossfunctional teams to develop and solidify design strategies to integrate sensors, motors, computers, PCBs, and switches;br 4 Experience designing novel wire solutions with suppliers and managing harness BOM, schedule, cost, and assembly sequence during prototype, preproduction, and massproduction implementation;br 5 Experience using CAD software to design 3D wire harness assemblies and documenting both large and small parts, and well as assemblies;br 6 Experience making 2D harness drawings utilizing applicable drawing standards;br 7 Experience utilizing rapid prototyping manufacturing processes to quickly validate solutions;br 8 Experience in design and analysis, including statics, materials, electrical loads, EMI, and tolerances;br 9 Experience with component selection criteria with an emphasis on selection for ability to assemble, reliability, and cost;br 10 Experience with Design for Manufacturing, including design and implementation of solutions which address manufacturability concerns, including high insertion force, fluid ingress protection and harness protection against sharp edges, abrasion, and penetration;br 11 Experience reviewing and understanding electrical schematics and electromechanical drawings;br 12 Experience performing Design and Production FMEA and Design for Six Sigma;br 13 Experience with wire harness and electrical architecture best practices and methodology; and,br 14 Experience leading cross functional and peer design reviews to derisk the design, collect valuable feedback and validate the design prior to ordering hardware.br br Some travel up to 10 may be required to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States and abroad.
