We are seeking experienced nurses to join our team to provide assistance with medication management and physical therapy for a 70-year-old man with Parkinson’s disease experiencing mobility issues, tremors, and difficulties with activities of daily living.

Project Overview:
We are seeking skilled nurses to join our caregiving team on a contractual basis, with a focus on providing specialized care for a 70-year-old man with Parkinson’s disease. This role involves delivering medication management, physical therapy, and assistance with activities of daily living to improve our patient’s mobility, manage symptoms, and promote independence in daily life.

Responsibilities:

Medication Management: Provide comprehensive medication management to our patient, ensuring adherence to prescribed medications and monitoring for effectiveness and potential side effects. Collaborate with our patient’s healthcare providers to adjust medication regimens as needed to optimize symptom management and overall well-being.
Physical Therapy: Implement personalized physical therapy interventions to address our patient’s mobility issues, tremors, and difficulties with activities such as dressing and feeding. Design and implement exercise programs, gait training, and mobility aids to improve strength, balance, and coordination, promoting independence and functional ability in daily life.
Activities of Daily Living: Offer assistance and support to our patient with activities of daily living, including dressing, feeding, grooming, and personal hygiene. Provide guidance and encouragement to help our patient maintain independence to the fullest extent possible while ensuring safety and comfort in performing daily tasks.
Collaboration: Work closely with our patient’s healthcare team, including neurologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure coordinated and holistic care. Communicate regularly with team members to share information, discuss treatment goals, and address any emerging needs or concerns, promoting continuity and effectiveness of care delivery.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess our patient’s mobility, tremors, and functional abilities to evaluate the effectiveness of medication management and physical therapy interventions. Use standardized assessment tools, functional tests, and patient feedback to monitor changes in our patient’s symptoms, adjust intervention strategies as needed, and optimize his overall well-being and quality of life.
Requirements:

Certification as a registered nurse with experience in neurology nursing, rehabilitation nursing, or geriatric nursing.
Proficiency in medication management for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, including knowledge of pharmacological interventions for managing motor symptoms and improving quality of life.
Experience in delivering physical therapy interventions to address mobility issues, tremors, and difficulties with activities of daily living in individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with Parkinson’s disease and their families, fostering trust and rapport, and collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Compassion, empathy, and a genuine commitment to promoting the independence and well-being of individuals with Parkinson’s disease, supporting them with sensitivity, respect, and dignity.
