Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our caregiving team on a contractual basis, with a focus on providing specialized care for our 55-year-old family member with terminal lung cancer. This role involves palliative care, symptom management, and emotional support for him and his family caregivers.

Responsibilities:

Palliative Care: Provide compassionate palliative care to enhance the comfort and quality of life for our family member living with terminal lung cancer. Focus on addressing his physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and promoting dignity and respect throughout the end-of-life journey.
Symptom Management: Implement comprehensive symptom management strategies to alleviate our family member’s symptoms such as pleural effusion, dyspnea, and anxiety. Collaborate with healthcare providers to assess symptom severity, administer appropriate medications, and utilize non-pharmacological interventions to optimize symptom control and minimize distress.
Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and counseling to our family member and his family caregivers to help them cope with the challenges of terminal illness and end-of-life care. Provide a compassionate presence, active listening, and guidance on coping mechanisms, grief processing, and end-of-life decision-making, fostering a supportive and comforting environment for all involved.
Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and holistic care for our family member. Communicate regularly with the interdisciplinary team to provide updates on his condition, address concerns, and adjust care plans as needed, ensuring he receives the best possible care and support tailored to his individual needs and preferences.
Family Caregiver Support: Offer education, training, and emotional support to family caregivers to help them navigate the challenges of caring for a loved one with a terminal illness. Provide guidance on self-care practices, respite care options, and community resources available to support them in their caregiving role, promoting their overall health and well-being.
Requirements:

Certification as a registered nurse with experience in palliative care, oncology nursing, or end-of-life care.
Proficiency in providing palliative care, symptom management, and emotional support for individuals with terminal illnesses, including knowledge of pain management, dyspnea management, and psychological support techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate support to individuals and families facing end-of-life issues and bereavement.
Compassion, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals living with terminal illnesses and supporting their families during the end-of-life journey.
