Job Duties: • Record the numbers and types of harvested product. • Monitor workers to ensure that safety and food safety regulations are followed, warning or disciplining those who violate safety and food safety regulations. • Observe employees for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior, notifying managers. • Observe product for food safety and quality. • Train workers in cutting, packing of product and use of equipment. • Communicate with managers on plans and procedures. • Schedule work crews, equipment, or transportation work locations. • Drive or operate harvest machinery, such as trucks, tractors, or self-propelled harvesters. • Read shipper orders to determine required activities. • Inspect harvest fields to ensure safety and food safety regulations are being met. • Confer with managers to determine production requirements, conditions of equipment and supplies, and work schedules. • Monitor operations to identify and solve problems, improve work methods, and ensure compliance with safety, company, and government regulations. • Plan work schedules according to shippers orders. The 3 supervisors will not be working with crops, rather they will be monitoring workers who will be harvesting iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, broccoli, green leaf lettuce, and butter lettuce.
