Job Duties: Use a computer to make and confirm reservations. Greet guests and use a computer to register and assign rooms to them. Issue room keys. Communicate comments or problems reported by guests to housekeeping, maintenance, management, or other appropriate staff. Verify customers’ credit and establish how they will pay for accommodations. Use computers to keep records of room availability and guests’ accounts. Post charges for rooms, food, liquor, and other guest expenses using computers. Compute bills and collect payments from guests. Answer questions about hotel services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding dining, shopping, and other activities. Arrange tours, taxis, or restaurant reservations for customers. Answer telephone calls and transmit and receive messages. Job Classification: 43-4081.00 – Hotel, Motel, and Resort Desk Clerks
