General Farmworkers – Openings: 8

Job Duties: General farmhands for Crawfish and rice harvest. Crawfish includes repair and maintain farm equip., shop, fields, levees, water maintenance & tractor driving. Crawfishing involves manually cutting up bait, bait traps; operate motorized boats; traps are removed from the pond, crawfish are emptied into sacks, traps are re-baited and put back into pond; weigh, tag, wash, grade, load crawfish in truck and bring to market; frequent stooping and lifting requirement of 60lbs., repetitive movements and working outside in inclement weather conditions. The worker (s) may be requested but not required to work more than 8 hours per day and/or the Sabbath depending upon the conditions at the worksite, weather, and maturity of the crop. Rice includes help repair and maintain farm equipment, shop, fields, levees and farm roads. Drive tractor, drive rice truck to rice bins and rice mill, assist with loading /unloading rice trucks, maintain rice bins to include clean up rice spills, sweeping rice spills, working outside in inclement weather conditions. Housing provided on the premises at no cost. Tools, supplies & equipment provided at no cost. Transportation and subsistence expenses to the worksite will be paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract. Employees may Make above hourly wage and/or receive bonuses based on work performance and experience, may be subject to random drug screen paid by employer upon hire or if suspicions arise–this is a drug free work zone.
