Project Overview:
We are seeking experienced nurses who are compassionate and skilled in postoperative care to provide comprehensive support for our family member recovering from knee replacement surgery. This project entails a 3-month contract, with the potential for extension based on her recovery progress and rehabilitation needs.
Responsibilities:
Provide thorough wound care, including cleaning, dressing changes, and monitoring for signs of infection to promote healing and prevent complications.
Implement effective pain management strategies, including medication administration and nonpharmacological interventions, to ensure the patient’s comfort and support her recovery.
Facilitate physical therapy exercises as prescribed by her healthcare providers, focusing on improving mobility, strength, and range of motion in the affected knee.
Monitor for signs of infection, complications, and overall progress, reporting any concerns to her medical team promptly.
Collaborate closely with the patient’s medical team, including orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and primary care providers, to coordinate care, optimize treatment strategies, and address emerging needs and challenges.
Requirements:
Certification as a registered nurse with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in postoperative care, orthopedic nursing, or home healthcare.
Proficiency in wound care techniques, including cleaning, dressing changes, and infection prevention, to promote healing and prevent complications.
Strong understanding of pain management principles and strategies, including medication administration and nonpharmacological interventions, to ensure the patient’s comfort and support her recovery.
Ability to facilitate physical therapy exercises and support the rehabilitation process, encouraging the patient to engage in prescribed exercises to improve mobility, strength, and range of motion.
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor, fostering trust and rapport with the patient and her family, and collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
